Whatever will they think of next?

First HALO devised a way to keep babies warm and safe while sleeping with SleepSack wearable blankets and Swaddles. But now, they solved the problem of the squirmy baby on the changing table.
Oh my goodness – we’ve had two of those in our house now!
I got a chuckle when I saw this product, but I was curious. And curious means… I had to check it out and share it with you all.

The HALO SwaddleChange is made from Velboa fabric – cuddly soft, and I think our baby really liked this fabric, because he kept touching it. Then, there is the attached swaddle wrap on the top.
Why swaddle during changes? Because swaddling soothes babies. Some newborns dislike being laid down, or the sensation of cool air during a diaper change. The swaddle makes them feel cuddled.
Have you ever dealt with a blowout while baby is flailing their hands? Not pretty!
The SwaddleChange keeps baby snug and their hands “under control” while you change their diaper. So not only are they soothed, but you can get through the messy diaper changes faster. (Can’t do anything about the chubby kicking legs though!).
This cover amply fit my large changing pad, and has elastics all around to secure the fit. The swaddle is attached but the wide hook/loop closure adjusts to the baby’s size.
Note the swaddle is not intended to be a safety belt, and you should use your changing pad’s safety belt before adjusting the swaddle on your baby. (As well as follow all other manufacturer’s warnings and instructions!).
So how did baby like the SwaddleChange? Well, sometimes he didn’t like it and would fuss at suddenly being swaddled when it wasn’t sleepy time (keep in mind he’s already six months so swaddling during changing time is new to him).
Sometimes he tolerated it but wore a concerned look.

And other times, he just said, “Enough of this!” and reached under the swaddle and up to get at his hands!

My verdict: while our baby’s a bit fickle about this changing pad cover at times, it’s soft, it works, and even if he isn’t thrilled, it still serves the purpose of keeping his hands away from the diaper area!
I would say the SwaddleChange is at optimal usage in babies 0-4 months old. However, it is rated for use in babies up to one year.
And, at $22.95, it’s a good price for a changing pad cover, considering it comes with the extra swaddle attachment! Four colors to pick from: Sage, Blue, Pink, Cream!

i swaddled my daughter every night until she was 4 months old! Halo Sleepsacks are amazing!
Have not tried swaddling yet, but think it would work.
Swaddling seemed to help our son rest better. I plan on swaddling our precious baby girl too.
love the halo products quality!
Swaddling is the only way to go.
I am a firm believer in swaddling my babies. My older 2 were swaddled until they were at least 1 year old or longer and I am shooting for my 7 month old son to be swaddled for that long as well.
I think it helps them know this is bed time, time to go to sleep.
Hmm never tried this product but if helps making baby happy and more comfortable i like it.
This is such a “why didn’t I think of this” product!
My daughter is such a wiggle worm and needs her hands in everything that this would be great!
I remember my son would just flail his arms when we changed him as a newborn. I wasn’t very good at swaddling and keeping the swaddle tight, but the legs free. This product would be perfect for baby #3
Neither of my kids could stand having their arms tied down! LOL My dd was fine with swaddling…as long as her hands were out! With ds, he sucked his fingers so he had to have his hands out – would never take a paci! I’m hoping our next will like being swaddled! LOL
Swaddling was a life saver with my son. Now expecting #2 in July, wold love to try this product
I think the Halo sleep sacks look great, they didnt have anything like this when my first daughter was a baby so I look forward to using these products on my second daughter who is due in April.
I think swaddling works wonders and will be doing it again with my second soon!
I have not owned any swaddle specific products for my babies, but when they were tiny we would swaddle them in a flannel blanket before putting them to bed. Although, I would usually let a hand free in case they wanted to suck on it. =)
Swaddling is the only way our oldest would sleep. Once he was to big for swaddling we did sleep sacks. I think that is why he was such a great sleeper
I like their sleep sacks, this looks great too.
I really like the added safety that is provided with this SwaddleChange. It would also make tiny babies feel more secure while changing diapers.
My son is the worst wiggler ever when changing, dressing, lotioning….drying after a bath. You name it and he is flipping and flopping! My kids are 3,2,&9 mths. But with my girls even when they were at this stage, it was not this rough! So if there is a way to help both him and I go thru it easier and more secure, I am all for it! This looks great! I’d love to win it.
Anything that keeps baby happy is worth a try!
I discovered swaddling with my second daughter…loved it!

Swaddling really helps my baby!
I loved using sleep sacks with my last baby….never used blankets!
My sister just got her due date of 10/1/13…need to get the baby some great things
This product looks awesome! I can imagine it would be very helpful
