Dad’s Log: Tribbles Part Doo!
Now that the menace that is baby food jars has passed, a new breed of tribbles has put a stranglehold on Dad’s universe. A universe slowly shrinking. Is it the big collapse?…No it’s Cloth Diapers!
Hey, don’t get me wrong. I like cloth diapers….cloth diapers are a friend of mine…you sir, are no cloth diaper! Whoa sorry, sort lost it there with all the political hoopla going on. Anyways… the trouble with my new tribbles is they are mutating.
I am not sure how this happened, but this little cute pile of covers & inserts has grown and grown into this Frankenstein’s monster of interchangeable parts!
It all comes to a head when I lend a hand with the CD laundry. Inevitably, I get to a point where I think to myself…is this a pocket diaper or an all in one?…well here’s an insert…if I make a slit here with my sheet-rock knife…I could…HONEY…I think I need help!
Disaster averted…shields down. Although in my mind I still channel Korax…”Get out of here with that parasite!” Oh you CD’s with all your fancy snaps and inserty things and fancy names. As I attempt to do the CD laundry, it’s like I am on the “Island of Misfit Diapers” with inserts that no cover wants…how sad.
Well the tribbles are here to stay and…I don’t plan on leaving either. So we simply co-exist..all I ask is try to stay together in the laundry.
How many different cloth diapers do you have??

3 Days Left

LOL, that is my husband all the way…except he doesn’t fold the diapers, just puts them on. We have so many types of diapers and some of those diapers have a lot of parts. He’s not home to do a lot of diaper changing and so all the parts can get a little confusing.

Funny, Dad.
We have a few different types of diapers. Mostly I handle the laundry but hubby is good about helping as long as specific instructions are given and he’s a pro at folding. Alas, they are in storage and we miss them but it is nice having the break.
We keep the velcro ones for Grandma’s arthritic hands. Even she has really gotten into the CDing. All the aunties, too, love it. I wish some of my other mom friends could just give it a try and see how easy it is.

I’ve never even thought of having my husband do the diaper laundry. Laundry is my thing in general. He tends to do the majority of the dishes that need to be handwashed.
There’s no way my husband would attempt cloth diaper laundry. I love my prefolds with wool covers {most hand knit by me}. My husband prefers pockets and AIOs, but I HAVE to stuff the pockets because he has been known to grab an unstuffed pocket diaper and put it on our daughter.

Lol…LOVE the photo. My husband has been really great about the cloth diapers. For a while there, I was pretty into all the different kinds, reviews, etc….
But now it’s about function, and prefolds with covers are still my favorite!

Sometimes I worry if something would happen to me. Hubby would have NO Clue on how to do cd laundry.
Enjoyed your post though I wasn’t quite on par with all the terms today!

I applaud you for even trying the diaper laundry. My hubby doesn’t even attempt that.
Oh my, what diapers don’t we have? I am in the midst of part time cloth diapering my second child. Now we have prefolds, flats, covers, pockets, AIOs, doublers, snap-in inserts, and on and on and on. Some have velcro, some have snaps. some are sized, while others are one size. I think you and my hubby could have quite the confab about CDs. LOL
