Cloth Diaper Friday :: Charlie Banana Diapers ~ Giveaway *CLOSED
I’ve been so excited to share this diaper with you! Ever since I heard about Charlie Banana diapers, I have wanted to try them out.
I do love one-size diapers for their ability to travel through a baby’s growth spurts! The majority of my diapers are one-sized for this reason. Charlie Banana sent me their Goodbye Disposable, Hello Cloth One Size diaper to test out, and we’ve been loving it. And not just for the cute saying on the bum (but that helps!).
I personally love the fit. The trio of snaps on the sides let you adjust the fit for a snug waist and thigh opening. The wide elastic leg casing is among the best I’ve seen for keeping in messes (of course, at this point I am dealing with solids, not the runny newborn poo, so I can’t speak from experience on that!).
Another great feature is the front pocket opening. It’s nice and stretchy which makes it easy to stuff and arrange the inserts. Having the opening in front lets me adjust the diaper insert a bit more towards the front (which is great for boys!).
The inner fleece lining super soft and reported not to stain easily. So far, I haven’t had mine stain! Charlie Banana diapers come with two microfleece inserts – they are nice and thick! I have been able to use them for night time diapering with 100% success rate! No need to add any more stuffing!
Want more from your diaper? Charlie Banana diapers are 2-in-1 Hybrids! The front pocket flap lets you utilize a disposable insert (also sold by Charlie Banana) instead of a resusable one if you prefer. I didn’t have the opportunity to review these, but I read on their site that they are recommended for traveling with cloth!
The Goodbye Disposable, Hello Cloth diaper is a limited time only custom diaper. Charlie Banana would love to motivate families to give up their disposables for good! This mama is more than motivated already, but maybe there are some readers who just want to try it out… you’d have a lot of fun with this cute printed diaper. Or any of the other cute colors and patterns offered! Check out this Under Construction print! So cute for boys!
BUY IT: Charlie Banana diapers retail for $17-25. Charlie Banana carries sized or One Size diapers to suit your needs, as well as cloth wipes, liners, disposable inserts, and extra microfiber inserts!
WIN IT: One lucky reader will receive a Goodbye Disposables, Hello Cloth One Size diaper! What a great way to get started (or keep going) with cloth diapering!

I would love to switch to cloth didaperes as my son is so comfy to wear it to prevent itching
I switched mostly because I could no longer stand the thought of all those chemicals on my baby’s bottom. My kids have their dad’s sensitive skin and I was tired of rashes and scared of what all those chemicals could cause years down the line.

I made the switch in July because I kept picturing the heap of diapers sitting in a landfill and that if I could eliminate my 1 heap it would make a ton of difference. Well, maybe not a whole ton I never actually weighed the diapers, lol. I used the “saving money” part to get the husband on board.

We actually swiched to cloth because of cost. Plus I hated the thought of my baby basically wearing a maxi pad.
Initially I switched to cloth because of costs, now I have a host of reasons to stick with it!

#1 Reason for Cloth is to be GREEN! But a top second choice is $. I bought a box of disposable the other day, on clearance mind you, and I HATED spending that money and couldn’t believe that I bought Pampers thru 2 kids. And we were so broke in those days. How did we do it?

I have to say that I love cloth diapers and my son is now two so we have been using them for two years! I decided on cloth for the huge impact that it has on our landfills.. I would love to win this for a friend who is due with her baby soon so she can see if cloth diapering is for her.

I first became interested in cloth because of the savings. Now the cuteness is a big plus!
Before my daughter was born, I wanted to use cloth diapers because they are cheaper, don’t have harmful chemicals, better for the environment, and cuter, but my husband was not completely on board. When I showed him how much we could save (and there would be more savings when we had more children), he was agreeable to using cloth diapers.

We lost our entire cloth diaper stash recently due to our little on being sick so this would help us get back in cloth! I also haven’t tried them before!
I often wondered how these compared to fuzzibunz. Do you have any FB to compare them to? They seem so similar. By the way, my fuzzibunz one size make pretty good training pants, too. I loosely snap the sides and they go up and down nicely for training. I bet these would, too.

I made the switch to cloth diapers when my son was 4 months, because I met another mom at a breastfeeding group that I was a part of who cloth diapered her daughter. She talked to me about it (and they were so cute!) and gave me some helpful sites to check out. Then my husband and I discussed how much we were spending on disposables (way too much!) and thought the savings were worth the investment. So, little by little I started buying cloth diapers!

My husband came back from being on tour with the army while I was pregnant and had a hard time finding a job. We lived off of our savings, but it was dwindling fast. And my pregnancy progressed. I knew we were trying to save money all over the place so for Christmas I asked some family members for prefolds and covers. So my son was born 2 weeks early and after we used all the disposables we were gifted with (about 2 weeks) and his umbilical cord coming off we started using cloth. We had 24 prefolds and 7 covers.
I’m going to give cloth diaper a try with our first one that is on the way because of the money savings and to stay away from all the chemicals in disposables.

The main reason I switched to cloth diapers was because I didn’t like the idea of my son living in the plastic and chemicals of disposables 24/7 for several years straight.
I switched because my son has very sentive skin so he itches around his bum area, also because I the long run I will save so much more money, especially if I have a second child. Also I like saving the planet a little at a time.
I switched to cloth for health reasons. I don’t want my babies sitting in all those chemicals.

I made the switch to cloth because I wasn’t comfortable with all of the nasty chemicals that are in disposable diapers. Chemicals that are known to cause cancer and are banned in other countries are NOT okay to be on my daughter’s bum!

I knew that I wanted to cloth diaper before I ever got pregnant. For me, it was mostly environmental and health reasons, but now being a SAHM, the money saving aspect is a huge plus! I’ve been wanting to try Charlie Banana diapers!
Thanks for the giveaway!

I am in the process of switching to cloth. A big factor is the money that we spend on diapers, with 2under 2, 12mths apart….I go thru diapers like crazy! But Ive also noticed a big decrease in the quality of disposables lately, as well as a nasty chemical smell. I am having a hard time with the switch because quality cloth is also expensive!
I used a Charlie banana cloth diaper on my toddler at night and was sold. We are saving to buy enough to exclusively cd our second due in December. Can’t wait!

I switched because of the cost savings. Although now I’m really glad we don’t have to deal with the chemicals that are in disposables.
switched after i calulated how much i spent on disposables for my first two
made the switch when i calculated how much money we spent on disposables with our first two
We are a low income family with a new baby, and we are struggling with the costs of disposable diapers. I’ve been wanting to try Charlie banana for a while to see how they work, but I haven’t had the extra cash to pick some up to try.

I am using cloth because they’re less expensive than disposables, don’t contribute to the BILLIONS of tons of diaper trash, are safer for my baby and are so darn cute!
It was an easy decision for me. The cost, the cute factor, the reduction of diaper rashes and the ease of potty training, not to mention the reduction of waste in landfills!

We started to help save money. Money has gotten really tight for us being a single income family. I work part time bartending but you can never depend on that. The switch was made easy for us by learning from other Moms and blogs Esp A Year with Mom and Dad. You really helped me with Learning and it has turned out to big a financial investment for our family. Not only will JoHanna use them but our next child in the near future will also. I would have to say Cloth has given us the peice of mind not worrying if we’ll have enough money to buy diapers or not.
Thanks
Nicole

We are currently in the process of adopting and are slowly building our cloth stash. We are choosing to cloth diaper for a few reasons but mainly the cost, the health benefits of not having all those chemicals on babies skin and the prints and colors are so adorable!

We never switched to cloth, it’s what we started with, flats with diaper pins and plastic pants! We’ve moved onto better things (pockets and AIOs) since then. Charlie Bananas are supe cute and I’d love to try them out! I love the look of the wider elastic.

I switched to cloth to save money. Now I just can’t buy anymore or it will defeat the purpose of switching
I have been wanting to make the switch to cloth but my Husband doesnt think that it would save us any money. I have been entering every giveaway that I can find so that I can get some cloth diapers to try. I have an 18 month old daughter and another daughter due in December. I would much rather have 2 in cloth diapers than disposables.
i follow your blog, i like you on FB and i LOVE your diapers! I use them, i’ve been trying to get my friends to go to cloth also! =)
I made the switch to cloth diapers for several reasons. I myself have sensitive skin, and while my daughter doesn’t seem to have it as bad as I do, there’s nothing wrong with having something gentle against your skin. My second reason is economic. I like washing and reusing things when I can; laundry is no problem for me (except for the fact that I sometimes forget to fold things). I also don’t like having to go out and buy a big box of diapers every other week. The Pampers Sensitive worked (mostly) for newborn stage, but they’re expensive! Huggies didn’t work at all, and caused rashes. Luvs are great and cost less (the ultra leakguards were able to contain the poops, provided we changed the diaper IMMEDIATELY-if we waited even a moment, it leaked out all over), but they still smell like plastic (which is my third reason). I hate the smell of plastic more than the smell of baby pee and poop. Again, that may have something to do with my sensitivity.
As a bonus, I LOVE the fact that I can adjust the diaper’s holding capacity. It’s easy to just throw in another insert for bedtime and not worry about having to change the diaper halfway through the night. I have no experience with exclusively-breastfed poops in cloth diapers, but am looking forward to it with my next one.

I made the swap to cloth because I knew it was better for my son. It does save me money, and it is adorable, but its so much safer.

My baby has been in cloth since she was born… now just 3 months old. We originally were using another brand and had to use disposibles at night. Once she outgrew the newborn of that brand, we switched to Charlie Banana OS and are using them happily exclusively
I wanted to to cloth originally to save money. However, the more I looked into it, the more disposibles disgusted me. They get a funny smell when wet, not from urine, but the chemical to keep them dry. My baby had rashes with the disposibles and never with cloth. I saw a commercial the other day for a diaper that was “guaranteed for 12 hours!” Most parrents would think woohooo! 12 hours!! Me? I think GROSS! think about all the chemical that is in those diapers to keep your baby dry for that long! disgusting. For these reasons I will be sticking to CLOTH!!!! Love charlie bananas!

I switched to cloth when my son was 2 months old because it was way more economical than disposables. I found cloth easier than expected, and love that it’s better for him and the environment!
