Cars 2 Review ~ Fandango Movie Tickets Giveaway
Today I did something I always said I would do, but never had the guts to. Out of necessity. I went to see a movie. All. Alone. I couldn’t figure out how to work around naps, trying to find a babysitter, and other scheduled events, so I went alone during my son’s nap while hubby was home. Since it’s been a long time since I went to the theatre, it was actually kind of relaxing to have alone time.
I had the opportunity to check out Fandango’s super easy online movie tickets service, and go see the new Cars 2. (Don’t forget you can win an awesome Cars 2 T-shirt and Prizes until 6/30). Getting tickets was super easy with Fandango. You’ve probably heard about them? You can:
- Check out movie showtimes and watch trailers
- Buy tickets in advance
- Avoid long lines (and sold out shows)
- Pay with PayPal (my personal favorite!)
- Gift tickets to friends and family
I always check out synopses, ratings, showtimes online before going to the movies. Might as well buy tickets while I’m browsing Fandango and avoid the rush at the theatre. Read more about my experieces with Fandango here. Ooh! And, if you purchase with Fandango, you can get a free iTunes download! I wasn’t able to take advantage of this because my iTunes is messed up right now due to computer problems, but it’s a fun perk!
One drawback I experienced is that in my area, only ONE theatre uses Fandango’s online ticketing service. So my choices of showtimes were extremely limited (hence why I ended up having to go alone), and there are at least 5 other theatres closer to me than this particular one, so the drive was much further than I’d like. I hope more theatres in my area get on board.

Well, let me break it down: Entertaining with a spy theme! Fast-paced - with several races and chases, viewers get a lot of car action! Clever car one-liners. A moral - be true to yourself (and your friends) – but the message got a bit lost in the action. And much less potty humor and innuendo than the first Cars movie, which I was happy to see.
What parents might want to know beforehand: If you’re like me and strict cautious about what you let your kids watch, here’s what you should know: I thought the movie was extremely LOUD! So if you have a child sensitive to noise, perhaps wait for the DVD. There was a little bit of violence, as one car gets tortured and then blown up. Also, some crass humor relating to bathrooms and passing gas. Finally, a bit of an anti-Big Oil agenda in spots, that my conservative soul could’ve done without!
Definitely past fans of Cars will enjoy this flick! If you’ve seen it, I’d love to know what you think!

I enjoy going to the movies with my family every once in a while. I think if I won I would take my daughter to a show she wants to see. Maybe Winnie the Pooh or something like that. I have only used Fandango a couple times but I found it very easy.

I never end up watching movies at home, so I prefer the theater. Saw Cars 2 the other day and the kids loved it!
I enjoy going to the movies quite a bit. I have never used fandango to buy tickets, but I use fandango quite a bit to see what movie is on closest to me.
I enjoy watching movies on the big screen so much more than at home. I almost always buy popcorn because I think their popcorn tastes so good. I do like buying tickets from Fandango online, but I don’t like paying a fee. If I were to win, I’d go see Cars 2 in 3D. I saw the first Cars movie, and loved it. Also, I think any movie in 3D is the best! I just found out it’s showing at an IMAX near me. That’s where I want to go and see this movie.

Although I like to get every cleaned and in comfy jammies at home to watch a movie together as a family, the kids LOVE going to the theater. We don’t get to go that often, but when we do, they think it is a HUGE treat. I have to admit, the surroundings do lend to the watching experience. But I always think it’s nice to be settled and comfy at home too. There is a new Pooh movie coming out that my kids are begging to see. If we won, we’d go so it. I have never ordered tickets online or anything before, but I do find the ability too nice because I know I could order ahead of time if we were going to something that might be too crowded.

If it’s a family movie, I’d rather see it at home because it’s really annoying having kids talking through the whole thing and kicking the back of my chair at a theater. But otherwise, I like seeing movies on the big screen. I can’t wait for Harry Potter!

For movies I’m really interested in, I will pay the big bucks to go to the theater. For ones I’m semi-interested in, I wait till they come out on Netflix and enjoy at home.

Most of the time I would rather watch movies at home, just because it’s so expensive. I only go to the movies if I just can’t wait to see it. I’ve never purchased tickets from Fandango, but I always use it to check my local movie times. Online ticketing seems very convenient, especially for opening nights when there’s always long lines. I enjoy going to the movies with my husband not every weekened but as a treat, especially when we’ve been working really hard. It’s nice to get out of the house. I prefer to watch movies at home. I hate the price gouging, there’s always a possibility of a rude movie-goer who’ll ruin the experience and it’s so difficult to find a caretaker for the girls. Well, I don’t have kids yet so I have the time to go to the movies. I think I prefer to go to the movies because the movie has all of you attention (unless there is a baby crying or a phone going off). My boyfriend and I go to the movies often. It’s good quality time and it gives us something to discuss later.

I love watching at home because it’s on my own schedule and we can make better movie snacks than the theater serves!
I used to LOVE going to movies, but when I started having babies (2 adorable little ones – both under the age of 2) I gave it up… just too hard to find a sitter, time, ect.. Now I am at the point where I would leave the husband with the babies and grab a girlfriend!

We don’t usually get to see movies in the theater with 2 young kids. I can’t even remember which one we saw last! We are planning on taking my son to Cars 2 (his 1st movie) and this would help us out tremendously! I can’t wait to share the expierence with him-popcorn and all!

I love going to the theaters to watch movies. I stopped buying dvds because truth is I rarely watch them and like the movie going experience. I’ve used fandango a lot but only when they offer a promotion or I can get the service fee waived by using a certain card. I am so excited about Transformers btw!
I have gone to the movies by myself once because no one would go see a kids movie with me. I prefer company! I like watching movies at home, tho, because it’s more affordable and more comfortable.

You really gotta laugh at the people who come up with a theme like that. Driving to their theaters and flying to their premieres….

LIKE ONLINE TICKETS BUT HATE THE HASSLES AT THE BOX OFFICE
We’d likely use these to go see Cars 2. We don’t hit the theaters often – too expensive, time consuming, no pause feature.
However, we’ll see movies that really line up with our values when we want to encourage Hollywood to make more of the same. Otherwise, we’ll grab a cheap rental or just wait for it to come on TV.
We rarely get out to the movies, but the final Harry Potter is a theater must-see for my girls this summer.

Just saw Cars 2 with my boys a few days ago. Very cute movie but the violence (shooting, torture blowing up scene) bothered me.
I rarely go to the movies but LOVE online ticket buying sites!

I would love to see the Bridesmaid with my husband. My daughter is going to spend a night at grandparents for the first time soon(exciting and nervous at the same time…), so I might be able to get a chance to see the movie!
